My Favorite Spotify Playlists for Home Yoga
Oftentimes, I relish any opportunity to have some peace and quiet. Most of my day is spent teaching, and talking, or listening to podcasts or audio books as I drive to and from the studio. I also like to give my brain some time for peace, and my yoga practice ends up being the perfect time for that. When the rest of the day is full, I highly encourage you to get more comfortable practicing in silence (or near silence, in my case; I live right near a major highway so…).
That being said, I am a music lover, and if my motivation to practice is on the low end, a good playlist can make all the difference. I’m not a teacher that meticulously chooses each song, and I have mad respect for those teachers, because music can create an amazing atmosphere, and totally change the way you feel about what you’re doing, even when you’re at home.
If I’m working a more technical practice at home, I tend to go for instrumental so I can still hear and follow my breathing, and focus on the task at hand. When I’m practicing restorative yoga, I really love a good ambient playlist that ends up being more white noise that anything else, but when I’m doing more of a free flowing, feel good practice, I love to keep myself moving with the motivation of some of my favorite songs.
Below, you can see some of my favorite Spotify playlists for practicing at home:
Instrumental Music for a more Technical Practice
